Tractus provides Soil Modification Technologies (SMT) support for in-situ soil mixing using
single and multi-axis augers to mix water-based slurries with existing soils to improve soil
properties (strength, permeability, reduce liquefaction potential, etc.). This includes custom
fabrication of slurry plants and drill tools for our clients’ specific requirements such as:
- Deep Foundations & Excavation Support Systems
- Hydraulic Barriers for Levee & Dams
- Environmental Remediation & Restoration
Our people worked on the very first SMT using multi-augers project in the United States:
the Jackson Lake Dam in 1980, and have worked on 50 SMT projects since then. This
includes field management of three of the largest SMT projects in North America (Atlantic
LNG Facility, Trinidad; Boston Central Artery Project; and the Cypress Freeway Reconstruction).
